Beaver deceiver is the device helping maintain water level in the lakes and ponds settled by the beavers. This solving allows to protect the beavers on the site and avoid the conflict between animals and human activities. The device was invented by Skip Lisle in USA and it has been never used in Czech Republic yet.

The Third Workshop on the implementation of Article 6 of the Habitats Directive, the first of which was in Oxford in 2009 and the second in Pilsen in 2010, took place in Dublin on 5th, 6th and 7th September 2012 in Trinity College Dublin.

Public meeting, presentation and field excursion focused on the European beaver settlement on the Jihlava river and other sites within the region.

European Beaver (Castor fiber) population extinct in Central Europe during 18th century. The population there was restored due reintroduction projects and protection during second half of 20th century. Currently the population within the whole Europe increase and its monitoring is a key tool for effective conservation and management, including possibleregulation.

Meeting of the authorized (licensed) persons for biological assessement according Czech national Act for Nature conservation and landscape protection n 114/1992, § 45i and § 67. Workshop helps experience sharing between the experts as well as feedback for responsible authorities from state administration (Ministry of Environment) and state Agency for Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection of Czech Republic (ANCLP) which supervises the processes of asessement. The objective of the workshop was preparation of new guidelines for biological assessment.
